Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about the Unified e-Visa 2026, application process, and entry requirements.
General Information
What is the Russia Unified e-Visa?
The Unified e-Visa is a digital entry permit that allows citizens of 55+ countries (including all EU states) to visit the Russian Federation for tourism, business, or private visits. It replaces the traditional sticker visa and does not require an invitation letter.
Do I need an invitation letter or hotel voucher?
No. Unlike the old visa system, the Unified e-Visa stands alone. You do not need to purchase a "Letter of Invitation" or provide a confirmed hotel booking during the application process.
Do children need their own visa?
Yes. Every traveler needs a separate e-Visa application, including minors and infants, even if they are endorsed in their parents' passport.
APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
What documents do I need to apply?
To apply, you simply need:
- A Passport: Valid for at least 6 months beyond the visa expiry date.
- A Digital Photo: A standard passport-style photo (or a clear selfie if using our service).
- Medical Insurance: Valid for the Russian Federation.
TOP CHALLENGES: APPLICATION, PHOTOS & PAYMENT
The official website keeps rejecting my photo. What are the requirements?
The official portal uses a strict algorithm that often rejects photos for minor background or ratio issues.
- The Challenge: Even professional passport photos may be rejected due to background shade or lighting issues, leading to repeated submission errors.
- Our Solution: We handle the editing. When you apply through us, simply upload a clear selfie. Our team adjusts the format to meet official standards before submission to minimize rejection risks.
Can I pay for the E-visa using my US or European Credit Card?
Direct payment on the official site often fails.
- The Challenge: Due to sanctions, the official payment gateway restricts many cards issued in the US, EU, and UK. It may require specific banking channels not available to most travelers.
- Our Solution: You won't face blocked gateways, rejected transactions, or confusing foreign currency symbols. Just complete a standard, familiar checkout process using EUR, USD, or GBP—we handle the rest.
Why is the official website not loading?
The portal frequently experiences downtime or restricts access from certain regions.
- Recommendation: We recommend trying different browsers (e.g., Chrome, Yandex) or using a VPN to bypass potential regional blocks.
- Our Solution: We monitor the status for you. If the official site is down, we save your application and submit it as soon as the portal is accessible again.
VISA RULES & VALIDITY (2026 UPDATES)
How long is the e-Visa valid for?
According to the 2026 regulations:
- Validity: The visa is valid for entry for 120 days from the date of issue.
- Duration of Stay: You are permitted a stay of up to 30 days in Russia.
- Warning: The day of arrival and the day of departure both count towards the 30 days. Plan your itinerary carefully to avoid illegal overstaying.
Can I enter Russia via Belarus (Minsk) with an E-visa?
No.
There is no international border control between Belarus and Russia. Using an E-visa on this route is considered improper entry. You should arrive directly in Russia or via a country with a standard border crossing.
